Alfredo's book is called "Migrant - The Blessing...and Misfortune of Loving Two Countries". He is offering it in either Greek or English, for free to students. It is usually a $45 purchase, but he kindly is offering it up to us, requesting a money order for $10 to cover the postage and handling. When our members send the money order they will need to say that they are from NUGAS.

Alfredos is a journalist and publisher, as well as a winner of the Medal of the Order of Australia "For service to the community through contributions to the business sector, raising public awareness of the issues facing migrants, and to the Greek community." Alfredos is a leader of the Greek Community, having served on the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria, Greek Community of Mentone and District and Greek-Australia Liberals Association amongst many others.

His other achievements include receiving the award from the Victorian Multicultural Commission for Excellence in Multicultural Affairs in the Meritorious Service to the Community category, a Lifetime Achievement Award, from the Hellenic Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, being made a Life Governor of Fronditha Care for Elderly as well as being a Life Member of La Trobe University's National Centre for Hellenic Studies and Research.
